Carla Harris, only last month appointed by President Obama as chair of the National Women’s Business Council, shared some of the hard-earned “pearls of wisdom” she has soaked up from the financial world over the last quarter-century in a Monday speech at the Highland Country Club.
Some excerpts from the article:
She spoke of being excited over her Aug. 12 appointment as chair of the National Women’s Business Council, succeeding Donna James. Two days later, Harris was chairing her first meeting in San Francisco.
“I’m sincerely very honored to have been given this opportunity,” said Harris, who makes Montclair, N.J., her home when she’s not at her main headquarters in New York City or on the road. “The council is a great, great group of women. And I think that kind of intellectual force power and real experience at the table will give us an opportunity to create some terrific recommendations.”
